I wouldn’t feel as if it were Christmas if I didn’t share Balmain’s 1955 cocktail dress. I can only imagine how the wearer felt, arriving in this perfect Christmas gown. To all those who celebrate, I hope you are enjoying peace with favourite people. Sold via

Tonight is Christmas Eve, when we in Iceland open presents. All the Yule Lads have already come down from the mountains, but tonight the Yule Cat arrives and he will eat all the children who weren't gifted any new clothes for Christmas. My daughters both got woollen socks so they are safe 🙏

Outgrowing spunky, teenage girl roles, LADY ON A TRAIN provided Deanna Durbin with a chance to play a sophisticated part. The film is a thriller set around Christmas, but with generous helpings of the fast-paced comedy at which Durbin excelled.

Tonight's rewatch. A Christmas film because it has a Christmas scene, and one of the great hangouts. It feels like John Ford on vacation, but Ford on vacation still has more to say about identity and community than most of his peers (if he even had any).
