Watching @tahvo.tech 's video on their first time exploring building a 3d avatar confirmed a lot of my own experiences. Basically when you start it, you're set to run around the internet collecting scraps of information to piece together a very clumsy approach and then step on every single rake :P

I've done a cold load (meaning fresh download - no cache) of Recursion Lab on the splittening (.NET 9) build of @resonite.com as a test. This is INSANE. Normally it takes a few minutes to load this world fresh. Now it's like... 15 seconds tops. #Resonite #gamedev #socialVR

Mario Kart has massive scale/family focus, it doesn’t “feel” right to lead premium pricing. Assume Nintendo crunched the numbers - they have older fans + a reputation for quality. BOTW was a test. But there’s also room for F2P/budget indies to break out huge.

Switch 2 looks great. New Mario Kart looks fun. “Mouse” joycons are neat, unsure about comfort. $80/$90 games are big jump from $50 cartridges (at walmart). Nintendo’s flagship titles could deliver, but I don’t know about smaller series charging that high.

My favorite part is that they consistently make the best VR hardware for the money. Like, it's not even a contest, they make THE best headsets, but they insist on trying to attach them to a bloated, uninteresting VRchat knockoff that somehow loses billions of dollars despite being worse than VRchat
