A rather lovely roadside ditch at Northney, Hayling Island, Hampshire. Superb upper saltmarsh vegetation, with Golden-samphire Inula crithmoides, Annual Sea-blite Suaeda maritima, and Divided Sedge Carex divisa.

Stepped into neighbouring West Sussex on a beautiful afternoon. Sea-heath Frankenia laevis was surprisingly common on a stretch of crumbling concrete near Chidham. Even some flowers! Not a common plant in Hampshire, despite lots of suitable habitat.

Details of this odd Sainfoin Onobrychis sp. found in a sown margin here in central Hampshire. Very pale, small flowers and very narrow leaflets. Aberrant O. viciifolia (which is present) seems most likely, but will have to wait for ripe fruits.
