2025 hasn't been great for writing. We started the year sick (whole family) and kept trading the sickness around for months. Then suddenly we were prepping our house to move, and then trying to find the right house. Then the right house's basement flooded. So anyway, here's my new office. Soon?

So #NaNoWriMo is shutting down. That...wasn't what I was expecting to see today. Well, we soldier on!

Waking up this account, since tomorrow is April! Hello, potential Camp NaNoers. Are you down and out about NaNoWriMo? Write anyway. Are you participating on their site? Get those words out! Are you tracking on a scrap of paper? You can do it! Are you eternally writing? Same! We got this. 💜

A month and two days into the new year, and my current 2025 word count: 0. Really crushing it. Sigh.

We did it folks. With or without a company that profits off of us. Hooray! Now, keep writing. 💜

My television pitch was loved by two production companies! They asked me to email more content! Now, I wait to hear back, if we're going forward. Probably into the new year. The suspense may kill me. 💀 Overall, it was an amazing event though, and I'm excited to see what happens for me!

Okay, how do people follow through on pitches without having a panic attack? I got here through luck and weirdness. I didn't go to school for writing or television or anything. I assume they have classes for actually selling your words. With less than a week to prepare... I feel nasueated. 💀

Regardless of what the officials are doing/saying, how goes writing for everyone else lately? I'm cleaning up a series pitch for a network, that I was invited to submit. Phewwwww, it's heavy! About 20 years in the making, it's time.

The more I think about that Nanowrimo statement, the angrier I get. Like, they actually tried suggesting that underrepresented minorities need AI to break into publishing! Just say you think we're stupid, damn. Straight up bigotry, dressed up in SJ language, all to sell a scam.

nanowrimo? the same nanowrimo that partnered with a scammy fake publishing house in '22? the same nanowrimo that had an actual grooming and predator problem on the message boards meant to support children and was revealed to have done nothing for years in '23?

Started this account with good intentions. Now? Nanowrimo, you let us all down.
