Have six stories pending in the slush pile, a fantasy map commission heading to the second round, seeking an editor for my sequel still, and grinding away on drafts of two novellas. My biggest hope is that all the short stories and novellas find their home this year

I’m also proud to announce that I have finally handbuilt a food safe and functional mug.

I’m relieved to announce that I have finally wrapped up the ninth draft of my sequel and sent the manuscript off to my editor. I think I could keep chipping away at things to improve, but I feel like I’ve taken it as far as I can go on my own and need a fresh set of eyes on it.

Today was the final day of the #TulsaLitFest. I’m amazed by how many awesome poets and writers and artists are in Tulsa, and I’m feeling energized and ready to dive back into my own work.

When I was a freshman in college, my friend’s grandparents took me and her to a Turkish restaurant and then the Chicago opera. The Turkish restaurant served the best Turkish coffee and baba ganoush.

I bought some vintage dishware to make slip casts of their bodies, make approximations of how much clay to use while hand building, and also have an idea of how large the copied forms should be. Breaking out the high school geometry notes to measure radius, height, and angle 📐 #pottery #handbuilding

Took a day off work to have a personal office day: got a haircut, put in an application to get my car title, cleaned my cat’s litter box, and gave my cat a much needed bath, cleaned bathroom, did laundry, made plaster molds out of some thrift store dishes for pottery hand building….

There are so few presses that publish novellas that I sometimes wonder why I don’t self-publish mine like I do with my full-length books.

I’ll be reading a brand new #horror #flashfiction at Tulsa Lit Fest on April 26th! This is my first time being invited to do a public reading—nervous, but also excited.

being an indie bookseller in the helltimes has felt both very stable and very stabilizing, and part of me wishes everyone could be on my side of the counter for a little while, because I think it would help some of you be a little less cynical and doomy right now. so here is my VERY anecdotal data:

Booking an editor two months in advance has done wonders for my productivity. I am revising my sequel at warp speed.

I went to a Thursday group ride for the first time, rode for three times as long as I expected to, was perpetually last, and probably swallowed a bug as I wheezed up a hill. But met a lot of fine folk who I’ll ride with again next week.

Last night I was sad bc I couldn’t think of a new short story to write and wondered if I had tapped out my brain. Today I had an idea and have started drafting it. I will learn nothing from this.
