I'm starting to code in the open about "Extra", this felt like a great way to kick off my new blog: colinta.com/blog/making-... The next post will be about a few "throwaway" features that are awesome and every language should have. Eventually I'll talk about how it renders/updates.

So often I try to use some new amazing tool (today it's Cline + Claude 3.7) and within a few minutes my reaction is "this is cute, but I have work to do". The sweet spot for me is still the very narrow-focused "help me write this function + tests" tasks. Agentic? Not quite ready, imo.

I need to buy some Skype credit today so I could make a phone call to Japan. Not only did MS cancel the credit system- it's (surprise!) a subscription based service, but every step of the way was buggy and terrible. Docs still say "buy credits", CC form doesn't allow autofill or autocomplete...

I used tweetdelete to wipe out every tweet - bittersweet, but I've been wanting to do it for a while, glad to find a relatively easy way to get it done.
