This is one of the struggles I'm facing. I am disabled, live with my senior mother, with inflated rent, and I am exhausted from burnout. Trying to will myself to go from my full time job to doing more computer sitting is really hard. I would kill to make a living wage as only an artist.

i often see people saying stuff like "you can draw comics while also having a day job" and it's like TRUE on its face, i never suggest people quit their day jobs to make comics haha. never. but it depends a LOT on the kind of comics, and for whom. and...how disabled you are, family life, etctera

I am tickled pink that I made friends with a bunch of random Fallout fan girls back in 2015, and now I get to see one of them working on the live Fallout show as a creature creator. These women, that I'm proud to call my friends, are so amazing and I love that we were brought together by a game.

Thought my cat was snoring loudly down the hallway. Nope. It's my lungs wheezing uncomfortably from this cold.

Note to doomscrollers, one way to keep your feed more controlled is doing OnlyPosts or The 'Gram so you only see posts (or posts with pics) from the people you follow. It has kept me from seeing stuff I don't wanna see.

I finally sat down and watched some of the Divergent series (I got bored in the second one) and I was amazed by how it's a similar premise to my Refuge series. ...which only makes me want to rework the series because it's now feeling like a stereotypical YA novel.

Please appreciate the fact that my cat sticks to designated cat areas.

Honestly? I'd love to be a radio DJ. Or even a podcast host. I can talk for hours about anything. But the problem (besides lack of faith in myself) is that I have reached a point where I feel like there are SO MANY voices out there that I have nothing interesting to add?

I took a shower with some of those menthol eucalyptus shower steamers, and I smelled *nothing* so I am definitely sick. But at least I'm clean now? Yay?

I've decided that I want to try to redo old artwork. I have literally thousands of pieces and my brain is tired so why not give some of the old ones new life?

At least I have a companion for my nap.

Can always tell when I'm not doing hot because my body never goes "I think a nap would be lovely!" It goes "UNCONSCIOUSNESS. NOW." And I'm out. So when I "nap", it's a very unwilling decision.

Okay, so how does this work? If I pass my cold on to someone else, does the curse leave me alone?

It amazes me how well Bluesky fosters actual relationships by simply… not trying to force how we foster them. Opaque algorithms on other sites have always confused me and got in the way of interacting in meaningful ways. Here, I feel like I’m in a huge room with people I like and get to enjoy it.

Commitment to a promise means so much more to your audience (and people in your life in general) than you will ever understand. Even if you do not have the empathy to see how it affects people emotionally, remember that your reputation is a limited resource like any other.
