I'll say again: we are oddly selective about the government services about which we will say, they operate at a loss. We say Amtrak and the post office "lose money" but we never say highways, the court system, the Pentagon, etc lose money

As the Skagit River’s flood waters were building, the Army Corps took over Ross Dam and Upper Baker Dam, to hold back as much water as possible. Flooding still occurred in the region, but the dams were reportedly able to shave 4 to 5 feet off the river's peak height of about 37 feet.
