feeling miserable and anxious and useless today, which is admittedly kinda rare compared to how it used to be when it was a nonstop-daily thing, but it's still got me wanting to implode into a tiny ball and disappear

anyway: getting there lmao turning my brain off by just treating things like sketches that i'm gradually tightening up feels better than going into it like "this all must be perfect from the very first stroke" whether i mean to or not (reference used: www.pexels.com/photo/scenic... )

trying to make an animated-stamp brush in the pixel brush engine (krita 5.2.2) and then having it work correctly right up until you select a different brush and then try to switch back, because For Some Fucking Reason Animated-Stamp Brushes Never Save Correctly is. more than a little frustrating

i think the more i try to paint, the more i actually dislike painting. what the fuck gonna keep trying anyway because 1. i said i would and 2. because i feel like i'm triangulating on what will make it *fun* for me but i haven't quite found it yet. chasing the ghost of something.

more ported-to-krita-from-sai2 brush testing (i called this brush "chunky gravel" because it was meant to imitate gravel/bark/other rough blocky texture things, but it also works okay as a "cheater" brush for impressionist-esque paint dabs in a pinch)

in trying to make some other brush entirely, i accidentally made a (non-smearing! just pixel engine!!) watercolor brush that makes both the krita defaults *and* everything i tried to do in SAI2 look and feel tepid in comparison (subjectively, and purely for my intents and purposes)
