It's cool that we have an attorney general filing dozens of federal lawsuits with like 20 other states against the Trump agenda, but it's perplexing that there seems to be no appetite to investigate multiple potential TRUST Act violations here at home.

Chicago Ald. Mitts proposed an ordinance requiring surveillance cameras at EVERY business open to the public. Despite the absurdity of this request, it was initially co-sponsored by 28 other aldermen, who seemingly didn’t read the fine print or didn’t care to confirm the details.

Ald. Andre Vasquez says he is withdrawing his support from O2025-0018186. This is Ald. Emma Mitts’ new proposed ordinance requiring all businesses open to the public to have security cameras monitoring the public way and to hold footage for at least 7 days in case CPD wants it.
