Instead of a package holiday you can trust, we looked at revision techniques you can trust! Today in National 5 Modern Studies, we all picked a different question on a paper airplane, threw them and picked up a different one. The young people then wrote a PEE chain based of a random exam question. ✈️

Today we remembered those who were killed in the Holocaust. Our S3s have spent the week learning about and from the Holocaust. All S3 classes used Yad Vashem’s name database to research those killed in the Genocide. #HolocaustMemorialDay #RRSA #Article2 @humanitiesbhs.bsky.social

The Era of Great War - Issue 1 infographic revision 💣

We have just finished our s1 topic on Witchcraft. The young people were asked to create something based on our topic & told they could be as creative as they wish. We have had a witches house, hats & amazing story boards & comic strips created. Well done 🧙 (& a big thank you to our Braes Brains!)

Another busy supported study session in the history modern studies faculty tonight! 17 young people in attendance 🫡

Today National 5 Historians were looking at casualties and deaths in the Great War. Each pupil got a letter with as close to their names as possible to then research on the Commonwealth War Graves website. This helped them see that the statistics were real people & families lost in the war 📚

I have the best pupils in the world! Walked into my classroom after lunch and they had decorated for my birthday and baked me a cake - what a lovely group of humans - thank you 🥲🥳🥰

S1 historians visited the ‘museum’ today as we analysed different sources and decided why they might be useful. We discussed the date they were made, what they are & what type of source it was (primary or secondary). Well done 🧐
