Never understood parents who think their kids will or should follow their taste in music. Its weird, like kids dont exist in a bubble: school, mates, tik tok. Guaranteed 2+yrs this kid will not:

I’ve really enjoyed all of these podcasts from Miranda Sawyer, recommended. This one will be good. Ted’s funny and insightful. Also plug that a subscription to The New Cue is recommended, a shortcut for old people like me and possibly you to keep across new releases.

Mate and I used to do club in Greenock early 90s. Did it again last night, in Town Hall as one of his former students does ents bookings there. Was a lot of fun.

That's really unlike the Celtic Board to be tone deaf, patronizing and self-aggrandising. I, for one, am shocked.

Day Two of Reform conference, and we're getting the good stuff. At the Heartland Institute's fringe "Is Climate Realism Inevitable", we've learned that electric cars are part of a Marxist plot to control humanity, and heard calls for the abolition of the BBC.

Good this. Nice to see menion of Sonora at 13th Note on Sundays. Was great night, mostly chillout, but also some quite confrontational stuff, the Panasonic night being a real assault. And a lovely picture of young Chantal. Album looks great.

Aphex Twin, a Brixton squat and a load of wet mattresses: revisiting Telepathic Fish, the heart of the 90s chillout boom
Before it became naff music for health spas, chillout was cool – and this London club night was key. As a new generation carry its spirit forward, the originators remember the beats and bedding

Reflections as an ex-very committed lager drinker. This is a lot to do with size. Pints are a bad form of delivery for lager. Last third is always deflated. Best way is a la The French House pub in Soho, halves retain zest. Guinness works as a pint. Lager not - especially so those minging pint cans.

‘I tried to be nice. Sometimes I would explode’: John Fogerty on Creedence, contracts and control

Mogwai-fest in near neighbourhood. When first announced had planned to go with mate Steve. After he died a work thing came up meant kinda relieved couldn’t go. Weird intervention of being hospitalised in week with salmonella (not norovirus) meant could come to ball after all. Kinda glad. I know,TMI.
