For the first time, U.S. Poet Laureate Arthur Sze and the New York State Poet Laureate and CUNY Distinguished Professor Kimiko Hahn, appeared together at a CUNY campus on Monday. It was a powerful and engaging night reflecting on poetry, translation, and connections made through language.

I joined @baruch.cuny.edu President S. David Wu at the Bearcat food pantry for a food drive to support students facing food insecurity. Baruch’s public safety officers collected 800 donations, which we helped deliver to the pantry and stock along with student volunteers.

There is no better proof of the power of a @cuny.edu education than seeing firsthand the impact our alumni are making in their industries and their communities. Our graduates continue to make us proud long after they leave the classroom — and this list is a way to recognize their achievements.

We're excited to launch CUNY Beyond, an ambitious initiative aimed at tripling the number of students in paid internships and creating more employer partnerships that can tap CUNY talent to fill in-demand jobs.

CUNY Beyond is setting a new national standard for career-connected learning by providing more paid internships and apprenticeships, and career-connected learning in classrooms. We’re working to create more opportunities for New York’s homegrown talent.

Our students feel more prepared because of the great investment that our partners are making, and it’s a reminder to us that we need to build as many of these pathways as possible so that our students graduate and know that they’re ready for the workforce.
