As co-chair of the Eastside 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, it was an honor to gather with our community last evening to honor the lives lost, reflect on the bravery of first responders, and reaffirm the resilience that continues to unite us.

September 11th is a day etched into our collective memory—not only for the profound loss, but for the unity that followed. Honoring the 2,977 lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and all who have carried the weight of that day since. We will never forget. 🕯️🇺🇸

The shooting of Charlie Kirk is an unacceptable act of political violence. Regardless of one’s views, no one should ever face violence for expressing their opinions. Our thoughts are with Charlie’s family and loved ones as we unite in rejecting violence in all forms.

My bill (A8113) reauthorizing the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program in NY has been signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul. This ensures long-term care residents and managed care participants have a strong, independent voice protecting their safety, dignity, and rights—while holding facilities accountable.
