ok, I thought of another. Recently I asked a model to try to mimic my writing voice. I'd say it failed spectacularly at this. Not just kind-of failed, but completely, totally failed. I've seen this before

SUCCESS $140 for a professional locksmith to come out and properly cut the key. As a bonus, he managed to salvage one of the two keys that the hardware store locksmiths f*cked up. Even with one trashed $25 key fob, I'll take it as a big win over the dealer ripoff. And now I have three working keys

By my reading, the California age setting law seems harmless and good? AFAICT it just requires that OSes ask for your birthday. There is no enforcement that what you tell them is accurate, but apps and sites must respect what you tell them.

day three of trying to replace a key for my car dealer wants $700. amazon sells replacements for $25, but rekeying is a DIY thing unexpectedly, the hard part isn't reprogramming the radio codes, but getting locksmiths to correctly cut the key blade. two locksmiths have failed now wish me luck

Look at the difference in tolerances between the main rail and the guard rail. Main rail perfectly steady. Guard rail wiggles and jitters.

Of _course_ models know when they're in training contexts. They can detect a native Russian speaker after six tokens, they _absolutely_ know when their user is another masquerading model

Based on vibes, I would guess the Anthropic distillation press release is a bit of narrative management related to the attacks on them from the US government. I think they're trying to make it clear who's on which side
