Amstrad CPC game update. Think I'll see how 6x8 sized tiles will work out, it gives me extra screen width to work with in mode 0. Also has a nice square-r aspect ratio. This is one simple character, if I can get the other prominent characters to fit nicely in this smaller size then we're good.

Any guesses what this months Retro Gamer is about? Recently I've been getting these as soon as they are announced, which is great. Been with the magazine since I spotted issue 1 in WHSmiths Birmingham, and even been in (or written for) a few of 'em. Standout this month is a making of Stormbringer.

Any Amstrad CPC devs on here? I am using a pc to build, and I want to draw my graphics in a modern tool and export out as binary suitable for mode 0. Google has not been kind and not found any editors for Windows. Any recommendations?

So no one was able to beat Pumpkid on the Vic 20 this Halloween. I've seen two people get close but fail near the end. Witch Hazel rides to terrorize kids and pumpkins for another year!

Really wish I had this back in the day. With this and Bandits I'd have been a very happy boy. Picked up this turbo tape copy some years ago.

Couldn't say no to the Usborne guide to Better BASIC from the bookshop in the market for £2, and two old Edge magazines for 50p each.

Didn't know they made dvd version of Choose your own adventure... (also didn't buy it).

Joined the club. A couple of ChinnyVision pens and user club sticker. Came in a very bling padded envelope too.

In contrast this is what 2 pixel precision looks like. Better for larger objects, these 8x8 aliens are more noticeably juddery.

They're alive! Some simple animation added. Behind the scenes fixed up a couple of bugs with the Vixel library and the 1-or-2 pixel movement provision is now a selectable option. I'll update the Vixel library on itch later this week. #vic20 #gamedev
