State Papers Ireland is an assembled collection of official letters, private papers, and correspondence that was sent between the English governments in Dublin and London in the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

At a special event at the University of Galway yesterday, it was announced that the University will be the custodians of President Higgins’ Presidential Archive. At the event, the Aula Maxima was renamed The Michael D. Higgins Auditorium where a portrait by Colin Davidson was unveiled

It was lovely to hear Lorraine Grimes speaking at the @oralhistoryie.bsky.social meeting this week on single mothers in Irl & Britain pregnancy, migration and institutionalisation . Her research has focused on gathering the oral testimonies of women who suffered in the various institutions.
