Frogspawn distracted me from painting trees: it wasn’t a giant leap!
As a child, I loved exploring the overgrown orchard and the derelict glasshouse next to my family home. We lived beside a farmhouse that was originally part of a huge estate with a palladian mansio…

Still figuring out ways to use netting as an art material. The texture creeps me out. These nets are made from plastic. Supermarket chains are still using netting to sell fruit and vegetables. I wonder who'll be the first food seller / retailer in Ireland to ban this stuff?

What has dipping a stick in ink and roses got to do with colonial oppression? Art-making led to a haiku, then my mind wanted to explore some history:

See 🧵☝️ The maximum fine that can be handed down for getting rich by pouring shit into rivers is £20,000. Last year, in occupied Northern Ireland, there were more than 4,000 spills, but just 63 fines. Just six of those fines were over £5,000 - most were closer to £200.

Fair play to the academics. They're under pressure to accept A.I. but refuse. "We resist - because it is ecologically destructive, ethically corrupt, & because it undermines the thinking abilities that make us both human & intelligent." Thanks Clare for sharing the open letter.

Walk in memory of the children of Gaza. Keeping Palestine in our hearts and minds. With all respect to the person who designed the flyer, the children of Gaza were murdered, not killed. Obliterated. Victims of genocide.

How much water do Britain's data centres use? Bafflingly, there is no official figure. So here's my best estimate after weeks of reporting: circa 10 billion litres of water a year. And that's before any big UK AI boom. Story in
