My "high functioning autism" is basically everyone else seeing me as completely normal but maybe just a bit picky/particular... while internally it's me in constant sensory overload, social overload, and fighting against my executive dysfunction to just do stuff... Anyone else?

Started playing a game called Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. The easiest way I can think of to describe it is someone took Skyrim, smashed bits of Elden Ring into it, set it in Arthurian legend, and made the setting as dark as Warhammer. And it's a very fun game. #videogames

If you've ever thought to yourself "can I still be autistic if" [insert literally ANYTHING here]... the answer is YES. There is no single behavior that automatically rules out autism. You could literally have any single behavior that exists and still be autistic.

I don't know who needs to see this, but ADD isn't a thing anymore. The diagnosis is ADHD. And that includes people who have no physically hyperactive symptoms. There's an entire subset of ADHD that is JUST about mental hyperactivity. The more you know 🌈

I don't know who needs to see this but ppl with ADHD aren't messy because they're disorganized. Leaving things out is an intentional organization method because with executive dysfunction, out of sight, out of mind. The "mess" is insurance that they'll remember important things.

To the people saying "but autistic people ARE stubborn and rigid" you're missing the point. What's important isn't that we are these things... it's understanding WHY. Because it's the reason that matters. And you can't understand autism until you understand this.
