I’m 25 hours deep into DQ VII Reimagined and it’s one of the most relaxing gaming experiences I can remember. It is a warm blanket of nostalgia and provides therapeutic escapism during a period of heavy doomscrolling. The combat and story are fairly simple, but complex enough to push you forward.

Does it ruin it for me? No. But I very deeply do not want to deal with weapon durability in a Legend of Zelda game.

Thought I’d finally get around to playing the new Katamari game, which would be a perfect game to play on my Switch 2… Yup, you guessed it, there’s only a Switch 1 version with a frame rate that dips under 30 fps. If you don’t have a Switch 2 yet, feel free to keep on waiting.

My favorite gaming device of the year is the Ayn Thor, which continues to make my Switch 2 very lonely and jealous. Perfect form factor, tremendous battery, excellent emulation/steam/android performance, unmatched multitasking. For me, it’s the most impactful handheld since the original Switch.
