Vancouver Island's @docs4saferdrugs.bsky.social will be back outside Royal Jubilee Hospital today and tomorrow with pop-up overdose prevention sites. Autistic people can't have one place to be themselves with the support they need, Because people will worry "what happens when the support goes away?" and think burnout and trauma is the way to independence. And parents are forced to choose between no support, or ABA. It's honestly sick.

I was reminded tonight that ABA still exists, And I still can't believe the argument for ABA is either 1) Traumatize the autistic person so they deal with scary society "easier" 2) Make them as "independent" as possible so they can navigate society You know what reduces functioning? Trauma & PTSD
