Nick Nurse says he "thinks for sure" Dominick Barlow has a chance to make the rotation.

Magic 128, Sixers 98 Maxey scored 17 points in the first quarter and was never seen again. Justin Edwards was very up and down. The Sixers played the back end of their ideal rotation and rookies for a hefty chunk of the game, so not a ton to take away.

Kennedy Chandler has the softest touch on his floater this side of the Mississippi.

Dominick Barlow on a two-way is looking like a nice get for the Sixers. Moving a ton without the ball, rebounding effectively.

Nurse mentioned pregame that Maxey told him in Abu Dhabi that he felt like he wasn't aggressive enough, to which Nurse said that he felt like it was the most free he'd ever seen Maxey play. Maxey has 17 points on 7/13 shooting at the end of the first.

Nick Nurse says Kyle Lowry is doing a lot of conditioning in this phase of the preseason and they're trying to ease him into play given that it's his 20th season.

VJ Edgecombe (left hip soreness) is out for tonight’s preseason game, per Sixers. He participated in shootaround this morning and is considered day to day. Edgecombe is expected to practice next week.

Orion Kerkering was very candid after his miscue.

Kerkering obv choked and that will be the memory of the season but they would've been nowhere near that situation if the hitters with all the cute quotes, accessories, and regular-season flash stepped up in a single impact spot. He's immortalized on the poster but find it very hard to blame him.

Was critical of Rob Thomson the first two games but think he's been excellent the last two games of this series. Whatever happens, hitting has made his task incredibly difficult.

VJ Edgecombe did not practice today. Left hip soreness. Sixers hope to have an update in the morning ahead of Friday’s preseason game.

Paul George just got massive separation from Justin Edwards on a reverse pivot in 1on1s and nailed a fadeaway at the buzzer, eliciting an “OK, P!” from Joel Embiid.

These guys are unrecognizable from the team that won 96 games and finished with the second best record in baseball. It’s astounding.

Quentin Grimes says there are no hard feelings about the way things played out this summer.

Trendon Watford had imaging done and no structural damage was found. He will remain out for Friday’s preseason game. Sixers taking careful approach with him.

Joel Embiid practiced today, continuing to increase activity and even playing 5v5. Evaluating daily, but “boxes to be checked” before game availability. Paul George is doing on-court workouts & increasing intensity, integrating into team workouts in coming days. Day-by-day.

Quentin Grimes is at practice today and appears to be in good spirits.

Drummond has looked far better today than he did on Thursday.

Very good to see the coaching staff empower Edgecombe to initiate offense. Wrote about it on Thursday, but if you can get split ball-handling duties out of him and Maxey in the starting five, it really clears up the guard rotation without having to rely on Lowry and Gordon.

Think this is both what made Edgecombe a high-level prospect at Baylor AND draws the comparisons to Dwyane Wade. Attacks the rebound, transition rim pressure, makes a play.

Knicks 99, Sixers 84 Sixers shot 3/35 from 3. Johni Broome was the only reserve to have positive minutes. Observations to come this evening.

Edgecombe’s live-dribble passing was quite impressive in the first quarter. Some excellent reads for his first NBA action.
