You have to find out how the child can learn and offer multiple ways which connect them personally. For instance, the child I am with loves recording their voice, so we use it to help them learn how to count in maths. They love throwing a ball, tapping a balloon, so I use these to teach turn taking

Teaching is NOT JUST setting work. & in SEND cases, it is often about finding out how a student can learn & it can be complex. That job often lands to the TA in mainstream because the teachers don't have time, how can they with a class of 25 of mainstream kids? There is so little understanding.

But it's not the teachers who teach the SEND kids in mainstream in a lot of cases, it's the TAs on £12.21 p/hour FFS, working sometimes in unsafe situations without support. I really don't think the government or the media know what they are talking about. www.theguardian.com/education/20...

Yeh, I am going to miss Springwatch. It's sad when the cameras turn off- wondering when the Buzzards will fledge, or the Swallows - it's a ritual checking in. Now, their lives are unseen again. But, the wildlife's always there. That's the thing. We've just got to protect it better, love it more.

When you send a text reminder about Honey Buzzards on Springwatch tonight at 6:30 in the morning. Sure, isn’t everyone doing that?

1. back from school utterly exhausted. Can't keep my eyes open, have to have a kip. 2. Wake up what I thought was half an hour later, realise not much better, take a caffeine hit 3. bingo, awake. & raring to go. Except that it is already 19.30 & I thought it was 18.30. How? Just, how?

I mentioned the Springwatch cams, and now the class is alternating between the two in down time. This has prompted a convowith two 8 yos about ospreys and avocets, plus the class being introduced to birds they have never heard about. 👊 And the DH has promised to bring a raptor handler back next term
