Today the Silver Slashers were working near Benllech, clearing a large area around a burial chamber, which was almost covered by small trees and brambles.

Today the Silver Slashers were clearing a footpath, removing fallen trees and replacing some steps between Llandonna and Pentraeth forest. There's old trees and lots of evidence of previous hazel coppicing. #Anglesey #YnysMôn #ramblerscymru #volunteers

The Silver Slashers were replacing three ladder stiles today, around Ty Croes close to Bodorgan railway station. A calm day with warm sunshine and outstanding views.

For the past few weeks the Silver Slashers have been working on replacing 60m of boardwalk along the Anglesey coastal path near Llandonna. Bad weather delayed us on a couple of days. We finished the final section yesterday. Where possible we've re-used the tread boards to save money.

Hopefully they'll also be room on the spaceship for Mr Far Rage and 'our Tommy'.

I need to empty the Gaslow tanks to get them replaced (10 year life), so I'm mostly cooking in the van on the drive! Chicken curry today.

We had a walk around the lovely harbour town of Portpatrick, including a walk up to the evocative ruins of Dunskey castle.

After visiting Culzean Gardens (NT Scotland), we're parked up on the Scar Park CAMpRA aire, overlooking Stranraer. It's an ex-RAF Flying Boat station. The huge pitches are on the concrete plane parking areas and we must be about 50m from our nearest van neighbour!

Currently parked up by Saltcoats harbour on the west coast of Scotland. Although windy last night, we've been serenaded by myriad seagulls and oyster catchers and watched a lovely sunset. The fish and chips were good too.

Back on the mainland after a great fortnight in the Outer Hebrides. We're now on a campsite north of Oban for a couple of days, to recover from this morning's 4am start and ferry crossing, plus Cathy has an online Welsh lesson tomorrow. Still managed a nice beach walk this afternoon though.

We've made it to Barra and are staying on the lovely Scurrival campsite. We've seen a plane take off on the low-tide beach runway, Cathy went skinny-dipping in the Atlantic and after we sat on a bench with hot drinks watching the waves pounding. Hot sunshine today but back to wind and rain tomorrow.

A brew with a view! After a stormy and very wet couple of days, it's good to see the sunshine again. We're looking forward to seeing Barra and Vatersay before returning to the mainland.

Strong winds & heavy rain for two days, so we're on a CL on South Uist to charge the leisure battery and dry out coats. All local Cal Mac ferries have been cancelled today. We're due to sail to Barra tomorrow IF the weather eases - all part of the adventure! In the meantime - chicken jalfrezi.

We each tread individual paths but it’s good to share our experience in the hope this will resonate for others.

Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay, the theme, “Creating Hope Through Action”. I learned so much about myself on my recent walking adventure through Scotland. How I live with bouts of debilitating depression & powerful ideations to complete my suicide. Holding onto HOPE is key.

We saw our first otter today! We're on Benbecula and it nonchalantly crossed the road about 20m in front of us. With no other traffic we stopped and watched it for the few seconds it took to reach water and safety. A pre-lunch walk to Peter's Port between heavy rain showers. 😊

Strong winds and rain showers on North Uist, but it's still beautiful. We're parked up watching the weather. I also met Hercules the bear (or at least his life size statue at his resting place) in Langass Woodland.

After yesterday's heavy rain, it was a sunny but windy crossing from Harris to Berneray. West beach was lovely and we're now parked up at East beach with amazing views. Warm and sheltered in the van with a pot of beef stew simmering on the stove.

Admin morning. Using the launderette at the Leverhulme Community Centre in Leverburgh. Breakfast and trip research in the meantime.

#vanlife isn't all sunsets and quiet sandy beaches! We spent the night in the car park next to Tesco in Ullapool. It was quiet and we slept well. Now it's coming to life as lorries, cars and vans prepare to catch the ferry. It was a very warm 21⁰C here yesterday afternoon.
