In my 30 years producing TV news, we’d do a first screen of a piece by not watching it, but just listening to it. If the story isn’t interesting to just hear, no pictures or graphics will make it better. Amazing how much we improved a story having never watched a frame. Pictures just add to it.

This was a pretty wild exchange I had with Sen. Kennedy denying the reality of even Trump's own press secretary confirming the facts as my WaPo colleagues reported. The Trump WH dispute is merely over whether the 2nd strike was legal. Yet a GOP senator denied even that reality.

So was the word mistake misspelled just to be clever, or was it also one of the mistaks? I'm choosing the former...

Proud of the Post reporter for pushing back on Kennedy and defending his colleagues reporting. There needs to be more of this when someone -- anyone, including elected leaders -- lies. And, to be clear, their reporting was EXACTLY right.
