Games I've finished in 2026 thread.

Bought a cheap audio mixer thinking it was equal odds to either help streamline my audio setup, or it would just be yet another device in the headache. So far it seems wonderful? Everything just works. Audio never just works. I'm skeptical.

Starting BlazBlue Entropy Effect X and I didn't realize it had an entirely different story than the original Entorpy Effect. Original only had voices in Chinese and this is Japanese only which is still messing with me despite them being all new characters.

It's a good night for television.

I haven't been able to watch much of Unrivaled so far this year, but I am not missing this 1v1 tournament.

So I used an old iphone while my flip was being repaired in December and didn't know to shut imessage off when I switched back. Now I feel like an asshole because several people think I've been ignoring them for 6 weeks.

Put the Puppy Bowl on my 2nd TV and had to turn it off already before I adopt a dog I can't afford.

Tax return hit my bank account so I guess I'll treat myself to importing a few Danish pop albums on CD because there's no other way to get them.

I guess I'm ready to cancel league pass and start taking down some of the Bulls decorations around the apartment after work. Was an interesting season but I have no interest in watching them tank the rest of it.

The 11 year gap in my last.fm stats is eating at me. So many artists that would top my all time played lists just missing. The good news is I learned a bunch of random bands I was into 15 years ago have put out new albums. Bad news is they were never released in the US and are impossible to find.

I did my taxes. I have never trusted the tax software less. But I guess I'll be optimistic and we'll see what happens.

Alright it's been a month and a half and I've talked to half a dozen customer support agents, none have advice for what to do with the extra phone they accidently shipped me. So I guess I'm keeping it? Anything dumb I can do with a Galaxy S22?

I make a lot more money at my day job on days when the Seahawks play. Hoping they get to the Super Bowl today.

Obviously rooting for the WNBA players to get paid. However, as a season ticket holder for the last few years who has been priced out but forgot to cancel before it re-upped, I wouldn't mind this season getting shortened/canceled. Assuming I'd get my money back anyway. That may be a big assumption.

Talking to my brother-in-law, who does some of the organizing for MAGFest, and asked if they've done anything with The Garages. He had never heard of blaseball, so I got to blow his mind. "Yeah, it was a browser sports/horror game and the community made a band that put out an like an album a week"

Going to start scrobbling again this year. Will not update my profile picture. I miss that coat too much, and that hair.

Jars of Clay just came on the radio at the grocery store. This was not on my 90s nostalgia bingo card.

I am ready for what is sure to be a very normal football game.

Looks like @remapradio.bsky.social isn't doing the playoffs in the pick 'em pool this year so despite my tremendous week 18 push I came up just short of repeating as champion. Congrats to @samosburn.bsky.social who looked untouchable for nearly the entire season.

Found my VGC teambuilding/practice playlist from 2012 while organizing old files. Put it on after work today and hammered out a team with a focus I haven't had in a decade. Wish I found it before this season started.

Picked up a handful of new releases on bandcamp sunday and one of them is AI slop and I am furious.

Wanted to teambuild this morning for the grand challenge. Spent an hour going through the latest usage data and updating my teambuilding template for the format. Finally ready to start and the damage calc won't load. Guess I'll skip it or wing it again.

Don't mind me. Just spending an hour typing things in here, rewording them a thousand times, then deleting them because they aren't interesting enough to post.

The worst part about finishing a game is the weeks long choice paralysis about what game to start next.

Played a Chinese romcom VMF game and got absolutely annihilated by the final chapter twist and ending options. I might need to start playing more of these.

Got my phone mostly working again. All my contacts are gone though as well as call and text logs. However, photo messages and numbers associated are still there just with all texts removed. I've been going through each of them and trying to determine who is who that way. It sucks but it's kinda fun.

Might write more about them somewhere later but in case I don't here were my favorite 10 games and albums of 2025.

My(?) phone returned. The samsung cloud backup is gone. Google won't let me sign in without me hitting accept on a message sent to "my android device". Which I cannot receive because this is that is the same device I'm trying to sign in to.

Spending my morning off organizing all my loose not in use cables. So far 50 cables and 16 different types. I sure do have a lot of random audio cables for someone who hates setting up audio.

2 more hours talking to various Samsung support departments. At this time they don't know where my phone is or when they lost track of it.

Got an email the 19th saying my phones had shipped on the 20th. The tracking number attached to the email was the same already used same number they've sent for everything else. They attached a repair statement pdf that is just a screenshot of their sites log in screen.

Refreshing a dozen tabs of tracking numbers and watching all the gifts I sent get delayed or lost, like that scene from Independence Day where they watch all their missiles on radar disappear before reaching the saucer.

Pet store that moved across the street dropped off a card and coupons at work today. They miss having Taro here almost as much as I do. (Bonus old Taro pics that didn't make the cut for the calendar I was making last week)

A package arrived today marked “extremely urgent” inside was a questionnaire about why my phone needed repair, instructions on how to use the box that showed up 3 days ago, and a printed shipping label. A label with the exact tracking number as the one I printed and shipped last week Tuesday.

I turned the game off early in the 4th quarter...

Still no progress on my phone. Credit card replacement never showed up in the mail. Laptop is blue-screening. 3 different weather alerts in my area. This is not quite the holiday season I was hoping for.

So my phone hasn’t even gotten to the Samsung repair center yet but I just received someone else’s repaired phone?!

Oh cool the label they provided me apparently got their own postal code wrong. I'm never getting my phone back am I?

After a month of searching and thinking I finally made my first purchase for the holidays. It was for dogs. I don’t know that I have enough time left to think of things for humans. I should have asked for lists.

Don't forget to listen to December 14th XXXX while it's still December 14th. This might be my favorite new album of 2025. These kids rule.

Phone won't even get to the repair center for another week. This sucks. Still under warranty so it's free, but If I knew this would be a multiple week issue I would have just paid a local repair place instead.

Sent my phone out for repairs before realizing I should probably have given some people a heads up that I can't take calls or texts for the next few days.

Still sitting under 100 championship points for VGC and the season is like 40% over. Guess I'll let the outcome of this football game decide if I want to pack it in or bear down.

It's candle day AND bandcamp Friday. They couldn't wait until the end of the month? I just paid rent and still need to do all my holiday shopping.

I guess now is as good a time as any to remind people that bandcamp is a great way to not only support artists but also discover music. Some of my favorite albums this year I found playing with the advanced search, and some have criminally low sales for how good they are.

Me Tuesday: I'm not going to cook, clean or do anything this Thanksgiving. I need a break. Me by 11am on Thanksgiving: Well I set up all my holiday decorations, I've almost finished my 2nd load of laundry today and I have 3 things in the oven. I may have forgotten the plan.
