Nestbox update It doesn’t look likely that the Blue Tit chicks will fledge today. Optimistically I thought they might, but Mum and Dad are still on full feeding duty.

The Blue Tits are close to fledging. There are at least 8 of them, but as they’re climbing all over each other, and flapping about, it’s hard to tell the exact number.

This is grotesque on multiple levels.

The Blue Tits are coming on well. It’s impossible to see how many there are in there. If they all hatched and are still with us it’s 10. Busy Mum and Dad. A good few days until they fledge.

There’s a lot of flapping and preening going on in the Great Tit box, but they’re still being fed. Maybe tomorrow we’ll see some flying action.

Meanwhile, in the Blue Tit nest box, Dad brings in food, Mum does the feeding. It’s still early days in there.

It’s getting very crowded and noisy in there now. Both parents are fully occupied feeding and taking away their “output”. More on the Blue Tits later.
