At Knott’s for opening weekend of Knott’s Merry Farm. It was moderately crowded arriving at about 12:15. The Prestige parking lot was full. For people wondering about crowds, last night (Thursday) was a lot more crowded than I would have expected for a Thursday night, even close to Halloween. I went on Halloween night in 2024 and during Halloween week in 2022.

Was at the front of the line at the 6:30 Boo-fet entrance, but after Mary, The Zoo, and Eight Fingers Nine was headed back to Ghost Town for opening ceremony and decided to get a dark ride on GhostRider, so I was about five or ten minutes late in starting on the other six mazes.

Back at Knott’s Scary Farm for one last visit this season. Was planning to eat the In n Out burgers I bought last night, but it’s too warm to wait in line until 7 pm so I’m at Knott’s hotel for the pre-scare dinner.

Not counting airport layovers, I’ve been to all except # 16 - 18. Have had airport layovers in Dallas and Memphis. My only visit to New Orleans was for work during Hurricane Katrina during the journalism stage of my life. @darrenandpoley.bsky.social

Didn’t find it easy to spot all 13 black cats placed in the Timber Mountain Log Ride, Halloween Hootennanny version.I probably didn’t find more than five or six despite a second ride specifically to look for the cats. Two of them are located in the ride station.

You can take photos of the Stabby popcorn monster in front of the Xcelerator station across from the Cinema Slasher maze during regular operating hours at Knott’s Berry Farm this month.

Thanks to @rideguy70.bsky.social , visited Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain and finished all eight mazes by about 8:45 pm (starting at opening at 7 pm). Thursday nights (not sure about next week) are definitely less crowded. Also got a ride on Tatsu while I was there.

Looking at people waiting to get in to Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain on this Thursday night, about a week before Halloween. They opened the parking gates about 5 minutes before 6 pm and the park is supposed to open from 7 pm to midnight.

Went to In n Out to get dinner and got back to the Magic Mountain parking gates around 5:20. They originally had three lanes open for parking booths, but decided to open two more around 5:30.

Drove to Magic Mountain after work for Fright Fest this evening. The parking gates appeared to be closed, but one gate was open, so I drove in. There were no cars at all in the parking lot and ended up parking under one of the solar panels.

Talked my wife and daughter into going with me to Knott’s Scary Farm and Boo-fet last night. We ended up going through all ten mazes, but we saw more shows than I normally would (both the acrobat show and the magic show).
