Jordan Love was one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the NFL in 2025 but didn't have the volume of other top QBs. Whoever is calling plays in 2026 has to find out if Love can shoulder a bigger burden and remain efficient.

The Packers have to find out if "Let Love Cook" is a viable path, regardless of who is calling plays
The future of Matt LaFleur may hinge on the degree to which Jordan Love can carry the Green Bay Packers offense. Whoever is calling plays has to see if Love can handle more in this offense.

The Packers have a culture problem, but maybe not what you think. And the coaches can't solve. It HAS to be the players. Just ask Javon Bullard.

Packers WR coach Ryan Mahaffey is the only Packers offensive coach with a dedicated position title who has called plays at the college or pro level. Luke Getsy has, but he has a nebulous title as "senior assistant." Would be nice to have more experience in that room.

On ESPN MIlwaukee this morning, Adam Schefter said he still believes the Packers and Matt LaFleur would like to get a deal done. But it's not done yet and Schefter rightly points out, the sooner the better for all involved to get a resolution, whatever it is.

Bill Callahan and James Campen are each currently unemployed. They're two of the best OL coaches of their generation, and it probably wouldn't break the bank to bring them in. Packers don't have a run game coordinator currently.

The Caleb Williams throw looked really cool because of how he contorted his body, but the first Rodgers-to-Janis throw was 60 yards in the air, rolling left, from his own end zone on 4th-and-20! Like come on guys.

The Packers season can be framed this way: They believed they were a Micah Parsons away. They traded for him and were 9-3-1 with him. He got hurt, and they landed in the same place, ultimately proving ... THEY WERE RIGHT.

It's such a bummer Edgerrin Cooper got hurt Saturday night because after an underwhelming season relative to expectations (which were probably too high) he was playing with his hair on fire. If that's Cooper chasing down Caleb on 4th-and-8, maybe he gets there. Injuries man.

First John Harbaugh was going to wait to do interviews. Then Adam Schefter spent the weekend stumping for him in GB on all the shows. Reports come out GB is going to work out a deal with Matt LaFleur. Next day, Harbaugh is in close talks with teams. Wow.

If the Dolphins want to trade for MLF badly enough to offer real stuff for him, doesn't that imply that the front office (considering Brian Gutekunst's right-hand man is in charge there) thinks LaFleur is awesome? Which would imply BG would likely be his ally at 1265.

For the Packers fans who think this will never work with Matt LaFleur, if the Eagles called right now and offered Green Bay Sirianni for LaFleur straight up, Ed Policy and Brian Gutekunst would pull muscles laughing at Howie.

Packers gameplan really was "Find 6 and throw it at him." 4th-and-7 in man coverage. Motion MG across the field. This is easy money.

This could have been the TD to put the game out of reach. Musgrave has a step, but to me, he has to stack the LB rather than continuing to fade to the sideline. Love needs to put that ball outside shoulder, but Musgrave tracks it poorly too. If that's 85, it's a TD.

Another biffed protection when you have more than enough to block them. Packers had Kyler Gordon in hell all game. Watch J Reed SMOKE him off the line. This could have been a TD if they had given Love any time at all.

Packers have a funky protection on here to sell the play-action but they have 5 to block 5, and Rasheed Walker isn't in the same zip code as the edge rusher. Also ... how is this grounding when MG is right there?

You also need some luck in a playoff game. Packers have a terrific call on here (right after the absurd OL screen). Wheel route from Golden with a slot fade from Watson. Either is a chance to hit but Golden gets his feet tangled.

3rd-and-2 on the first drive of the 3Q. Hate only trying to get 2 when you need 2, so it starts with the playcall. Love has to buy some time, but he HAS time. He throws this away, to play it safe, but he's got Golden if he stays a half tick more patient.

First 3rd down of the second half, Love changes the protection to account for the heavy pressure look. Bears end up dropping out of it. GB has 6 to block 4 but even with help, Rasheed Walker loses to Booker. Ugly.

First play of the second half is under-center play-action. It's a big hit to Musgrave if Rasheed Walker doesn't take an immediate L (it's good blitz design) The reason Matt LaFleur kept bringing up blocking in his post-mortem presser is ... well, this.

Let's say LaFleur gets to stay, premised on the idea of replacing Jeff Hafley (who gets hired away) and his OC to bring in someone more experienced. Who could he hire that would reasonably come that would make you feel confident things could get better?

I wonder if this would be the staff Matt LaFleur would have if the team wasn’t so cheap about assistants generally.
@jumosq.bsky.social
laid it out last week. They do so much internal promotion and hire young assistants because they’re cheap.

When you have a coach like Matt LaFleur who is clearly really good at some things and clearly deficient in others, someone in power has to asking “what’s the plan to improve the deficiencies?” And then you have to decide if that (or any) plan is a good one.

The Packers have just never been a team that would scream “Fuck the Bears” like that in the locker room. At least not for 30 years. They’ve run this division for so long, that it would seem weird. But it’s different now. They need some of that F U mentality.

We'll see on the All-22 just how close this is, but the ball comes right off Christian Watson's hand. Only went up with one hand to get it. (Also thought this could have easily been flagged for a hit on a defenseless player)

Could have been 50 seconds with a timeout in your pocket inside the 25-yard line. It's never one play, but this was sure a big one, to the point Jayden Reed already apologized for it on socials.

So not only has the kicker cost the Packers what would be a 34-31 lead, but a missed chipshot FG/missed PAT means this has to be a TD to win. Just ridiculous.

An underrated play: Romeo Doubs sliding out of bounds on the slot fade. Instead of burning another 30 seconds or forcing the Bears to call timeout, the clock stops. Nothing he could do, just unlucky.
