I haven't really seen this said enough: When you see YouTubers trying to be informative or doing an investigation, but then they say their thing is just to entertain. This is a massive red flag. I did not mention this here, but alongside that release there was also a small release of the collector's development 64DD's internal drive controller ROM... dated 26 September 1996. Just additional evidence that the 64DD hardware was functional already by that point.

Okay this might be such a random and annoying complaint for the 10 years but like why is Undertale still in 2 languages officially?

Notes to have to people dealing with N64 prototypes that don't boot: - Try running it with IS64-Viewer or Partner-N64 Debugger. - Try running it with different save types. - Try with both. - ...and then try to reverse engineer if everything fails.

This is the last prototype release I got until there's more to do.

I don't think this is a mistake. Pretty confident Nintendo probably felt it looked out of place and changed it on purpose. That's the kind of thing you'll have to get used to in rereleases, that Nintendo can do some creative changes at any time.

I do seriously wonder if the Nintendo Museum made Nintendo interested in looking into emulation of more things because I really just think Virtual Boy is a direct result of that. It went from a footnote and references to "actually we'll stand proud of it"

The more I live these days the more I get numb to comparatively small (but still legitimate) problems and the more I rage on the problems above those but I have to shut up about it because just talking about it to people who already agrees just doesn't feel as good

The only thing that will happen is that it will be used to fuel more misdirected negativity even though the one that needs fixing is the USA (and that specific problem with a specific company would solve itself) but that might just be me.
