A small fire at the front of the bookshop was started last night after rubbish bags that were awaiting collection were set on fire. The guards don’t have reason at this time to believe it was a targeted attack. Thankfully the damage was limited and everyone is safe. We are open for business as usual

The reality is that Interzone were harassed off this site by “writers” who didn’t like being reminded that they have a responsibility to take a proactive stance against AI. They just want to sit back and hope someone else solves the problem, and they can’t stand anyone calling out that apathy.

My 2 cents on the current AI discourse: if you mention a publication that’s used AI for artwork in your cover letter to another publication, the editor has no way of knowing your views on that use of AI. You’ve left open the possibility that you’re pro-AI. 1/?

Second attempt at baking my own sourdough went somewhat better than the first, in that these loaves are actually edible. The bread is still quite a bit denser than I’d like but has a good sourdough flavour.

Aside from obvious writing ethical issues and the fact that it is a tool for LAZINESS etc…. Chat GPT is BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT Do not use it. Do not play with it. It should be BANNED.
