I always love diving into a subculture-- bottle collecting + recycling for cash is something I've seen many times. I love that journalism forces me to approach people and learn from them. I spent the evening with Vanessa collecting recyclable cans, and she was open about the perks and challenges.

I learned while writing this, often disabled spots are illegally taken by “two-minute people." Other times, Duncan Byrne told me, "They just think that, ‘Oh, I hurt my leg, therefore I can use it." It’s actually not the same, though, Byrne said. Wheelchair users need the extra room to get out.

I found this really interesting to work on. There's obvious issues, no clear fixes, and people are really passionate.
