Today a coworker stopped by my room just to ask me my favorite Pokemon because she wanted to give me cards. My coworkers are better in Jersey, is what I'm saying.

It's just all of my offspring that have ADHD. Not me. Requiring 10-15 alarms a day to remind me to do things is totally normal and efficient.

I didn't know anything about my childhood was traumatic until my very first therapist said "C-PTSD" When my kid tells me I'm a great parent, I get afraid I'm not. Because chances are, unbeknownst to us, I'm fucking up somehow. But at least I'm not fucking up in the same way my parents did.

I am very smart and listened to a horror novel audio book before bed.

If I'm living rent free in your head it's only fair. I have anxiety, everyone is living in my head.

Right now I need about one day a week spent mostly in bed. Saturdays are coaching days and typically full of plans, so most Sundays are recovering and resting for the week ahead. It feels strange to be both the strongest I've ever been and needing the most rest I've ever had.

Lessons from being sick during a months long diagnostic process. I have begun learning how to rest. It's not a skill that comes easy to me. I know how to rest my mind, but my body is currently incapable of sustaining my typical level of activity.

Growing up, no plans existed unless you wrote them on the calendar. I learned this by getting into intense arguments with my mom about whether or not I told her my plans. If she forgot it, I clearly didn't say it, unless I could point to it on the calendar okayed by her.

I haven't felt in control of my life recently, which is admittedly extra hard for me. It's like desperately trying to follow a much faster biker, who keeps popping in and out of my field of vision. Luckily I'm not in it alone, and my support system is the only thing keeping me sane.

I've never gotten excited about women's shoes until I got my first pair of docs. I've historically been anti shoe. But the amount of masc dress shoes sized for women.... Do I... Like shoes?

I had one of the kids on our team come up to me after a brutal loss, and tell me "I think I'm starting to like soccer! I used to think it was just okay." Kids are my favorite people.

My oldest is in 5th grade. I have so many core memories from 5th grade. My kid, as an adult, is going to have clear memories of me and there is no telling which ones they'll be. No pressure.
