Four years ago at a new school I was asked to direct the musical with no budget and no funds in the account. Since that time I've grown the program and made it thrive, raising more and more money each year. 8k brought in from sales and donations this year. A record. The. Arts. Will. Live.

When I'm overwhelmed, every challenge feels like it is world ending. But most of them aren't world ending. Having a lot of small challenges is still overwhelming, but none of them separately are as bad as they feel cumulatively. Slow down and take it one at a time.

I always tend to put a positive spin on things. But it's important to hold space for others without putting a positive spin on their suffering.

Things I was reminded of getting on a dating app: - I still hate apps - I will never be too old to date - Love is infinite, my time is not I don't know if I have the bandwidth to parent, date two partners, and devote the time and energy that I tend to invest in a partner in a third partner.

I need to take pics, but after a concerning scan last fall, I needed to lose weight for my health. I discontinued my SSRI which helped put me back in touch with my appetite. I have both lost a significant amount of body weight and am lifting more weight. Still hot and obese.

Today while watching the kids I sat down with a bag of teddy grams on the couch. The littlest one sits next to me with a box of fruit loops. We both make eye contact and remember no eating in the living room so we both walk to the kitchen table without saying a word. I love them so much. 🤣
