I've discovered something bizarre about myself: I find it easier to read literature in English, but philosophy/academic papers in Spanish. Make it make sense 😂

Hard to choose! There are small, intense flashes of euphoria everywhere: a line of dialogue, a description, a twist... It doesn't really matter where it starts, b/c once it's there the sensation bleeds out across the entire novel, over everything, and then I'm at my desk burning alive 😂 #WritingQ

Neither the protagonist nor the antagonist has any limits as far as work goes, which is unnerving for everyone around them, but also one of the reasons they get on. The protagonist does have some moral limits however, and it's up for discussion if the antagonist shares these. #AwesomeCharacters

For the majority of the book, Nimue and Bo are in a symbiotic relationship. They both have something the other needs: Bo needs her fresh eyes, Nimue needs his support. BUT all that changes in ACT Three, when Bo becomes parasitic. OR DOES HE!? That's for the reader to decide! 😉 #DecemberWorldbuilders

Bo thinks about the future-aka his death-a lot! Essentially, he's haunting himself. That's why he's trying so hard to discover the philosopher's stone, the secret to eternal life. He wants to escape his own mortality. Conversely, Nimue's just trying to survive day-by-day. #AwesomeCharacters

"Surreal," b/c the truth isn't true enough, maybe? B/c surreal (as well as fantasy) is the poetry of prose, imo. And "dark" maybe b/c the adult world is less rosy than expected? And confronting that is cathartic & educational. There's a gothic horror lurking in every office 😂 #WritingCommunity

Nimue is afraid of falling out of the antagonist's favor. This would spell disaster for her career and for the survival of her family back home, who depend on her success for their survival. This fear makes her bold and immune to discomfort, exhaustion, and humiliation. #WritingQ #WritingCommunity

After Act One, Nimue, the protagonist, moves in with Bo, the antagonist, in his luxurious 5,400-square-foot Manhattan apartment. They're both very happy to call it home, although it does have one quirk that makes the protagonist uneasy: the antagonist's bedroom is in the 1/2 ➜ #WritingCommunity
