Roof shoveling guys came by. The did a good job. Left me with a clear driveway (already cleared from the big storm, cleared snow they removed from roof) path to my oil tank, compacted path from my front door.

Small critter makes tracks across my yard. Think it’s the black cat that comes around. They look healthy so not a stray, I’m just on their route.

First real snow of the year. Temperature is right at freezing so it’s wet and heavy. Expect 13-24 inches over the next few days. Made it to the IGA grocery store to stock up, not going anywhere soon.

How it started, how it ended

Mourning a dog. He was a 14 y.o. Still too soon. Not unexpected but my subconscious still expects him to be there. I look up from reading where his bed was - he’s not there. I come down in the morning (he couldn’t climb the stairs the last few years) and he’s not there.

Egg prices: I bought a dozen eggs the other day for 45 cents. Yes, you heard me. Their “best by” date was the next day. Made a nice frittata. Today bought 18 eggs for 1.99. A dozen was still the regular 3.50. Whaaaat? Is the egg cartel dumping eggs to support the next guy?
