I played Good Society for the first time ever this week and now understand the hype. Such a good system! It helps that everyone I'm playing with is all in on the drama as well. The facilitator also keeps things moving at a good pace! Nathaniel Peapenny may end up one of my favorite characters ever.

Howl of the Wild got me thinking: Humans would for sure need to grapple with human-centric thinking in a world with beastfolk. A lot of "Humans aren't the default" and "Beastfolk aren't just Human+" statements. It would be really messed up to compare birdfolk to chickens, for example. Fun to ponder.

I like the mechanics of currency in PF2e, but I'd like my next setting not to use gold for reasons. I think my plan to just use treasure at different values instead is a good way to make that work, but it feels subpar. Anyone have ideas for ways to replace a currency resource in TTRPGs with them?

I really worry that when other TTRPGs finally manage to become as popular as D&D that they'll end up just as grossly commercialized and debased. It makes it difficult to want to support things, but I'm happy whenever I see that other creators in the space are much more principled than WotC.

I read a fascinating article by Chase Carter at Rascal News recently (highly recommend getting a subscription, they're great) about the TTRPG Hype Cycle. It really resonated with me and so I want answer his call to action. To start, I must ask, what TTRPG or AP do y'all feel deserves more attention?

The level to which it is important to follow the rules in a TTRPG depends entirely on whether you're just having fun with friends, trying to tell a story, or trying to entertain an audience.

Companies and really any large organizations are always willing to lie to you. They have more time, money, and lawyers than anyone they harm ever will. Judge them always by their actions, not whatever they claim in a PR spin. This is, of course, in regards to countless things happening right now.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of raising money for Extra Life through PlayoticGames on Twitch. I had an absolute blast and we managed to raise $4000 for kids in need! It was great! I figured that if I wanted to be a part of more things in the future I ought to get a social media presence.
