And this is why science is vastly mediocre. Because people were always looking for shortcuts to fill pages and inflate their cvs. The co-author that did not even read the paper, the half-baked literature review. The sloppy analysis. Incomplete code, no data. LLMs are the regression towards the mean.

Sports are political. Following the USA’s hockey wins at the Olympics, the White House revisited an old tweet from Trudeau that asserted our sovereignty. They shared that post with an image of an eagle attacking a Canada goose. But they messed up Because in that story, the goose came out on top.

There was a coordinated campaign to convince people that scientists were liars. Americans were fed a deluge of this 👇 for years from all over, every angle. Today, these actors claim they merely want to restore trust in science, as if we can't see that they taking a wrecking ball to it.

I had to accept (when I became a single parent of three) that my parenting capital was extremely depleted and I just could not cope with the ‘investment’ expectations. I had no choice but to let go of some parenting ‘musts’ (and society’s judgement). This book seems extremely interesting!

Yesterday Cory Doctorow argued that refusal to use LLMs was mere "neoliberal purity culture". I think his argument is a strawman, doesn't align with his own actions and delegitimizes important political actions we need to make in order to build a better cyberphysical world.
