#4: Vampire Survivors I picked this back up as a palette cleanser between reviews. Before I knew it, I was 2 trophies short of the Platinum and rolled credits (I don't think there were actual credits when I beat this on PC 4 (holy crap) years ago. I'll grab the DLC after I finish off the Platinum.

I struggled with this one a bit. I loved the first game and I hate writing negative reviews that don't just read: this game sucks. I think the game can make it out of Early Access though as there has been plenty of feedback in their Discord and the Steam discussions.

#3: Jaws Retro Edition Yeah. I double-dipped. I thought it would be hilarious (at least to me) to get a Platinum trophy on a classic NES game. Mission accomplished.

#2: Jaws Retro Edition Total nostalgia trip here. The enhanced version adds a number of quests so you are not just sailing back and forth. At times, the game was very janky, and the auto-fire upgrade never worked. I had my fun and will most likely get the rest of the achievements down the line.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Progress I finished my first dive! It did take 2 dives to fully realize that this is not a twin-stick shooter. I actually went into the settings to see if there were control options and to figure out why my dwarf was flailing about when I tried using both sticks.

While reviewing a game I can't talk about (I probably should read the embargo rules...anyway), I have been chipping away at the last Diablo IV DLC trophy - Paragon 300. Watching some Paladins from the pre-order completely obliterate EVERYTHING is tempting me to pre-order the new DLC.

#1: AI Limit I really enjoyed this game. It's not perfect (the camera...wtf) but I highly recommend if you like soulslikes. It is definitely the fastest combat (no stamina bars) of the genre and I actually loved that. One more playthrough for 100% but that will have to wait a bit.

AI Limit Progress Update: You can pause??? Technically, this is my fault. I assumed, with all the souls/soulslikes I have played, that the menu was something you browsed when there was not even a chance the wind could knock you off a platform. Not only that, but you can swap items and spells.

AI Limit Progres Update: I legit said, "hmmm, no achievement?" after defeating a boss (all the bosses so far had achievements), and I put my controller down. There was no achievement because there were TWO HEALTH BARS. This is now a tomorrow problem.

AI Limit Progress: The best defense is bunny ears? Also, FFVI has taught me not to attack that guy when he's in his shell.

AI Limit Progress Update: I finished the nightmare that is Blighttown, errr Twilight Hill. This is actually the first area in the game that had me backtracking often because I lost my way. Falling was not cool, nor was falling into poison. The boss at the end was a bit of a challenge/surprise.

Blighttown, is that you? Poison? Check Death from gravity? Check Winding pathways that lead to nowhere and everywhere? Check The only thing we need now is sudden and devastating FPS drops.

AI Limit Progress Update: Despite the loss of currency on death, I like that I don't HAVE to return to the place of my demise. I've cleared 3 areas, and the boss fights have been enjoyable. Deaths to the environment are competing with deaths to enemies, so that tracks. The camera still sucks.

AI Limit Progress Update: I have killed two bosses so far, one on the 1st try, the second on the 3rd. There is a fair amount to explore. My only real complaint thus far is the camera. Several enemies get airborne, and if you are locked on, the camera initiates vomit mode.

AI Limit Progress Update: My first session was brief and played a bit further than the demo I tried last year. Second session started off horribly as the game tanked (stuttering and slow motion). After checking the Steam discussion page, iI was able to get it to run better.

Diablo IV Trophy Progress Update: Platinum Completed!! If you watch to the end of the video, I almost died after it happened. That would have been fitting. Perhaps I'll finish the DLC trophies when the next DLC because I'm not putting 80 more hours in for one trophy.

Diablo IV Trophy Progress Update: I hit level 44 this morning on hardcore. It has not been difficult but had a few uncomfortably close calls. I hope to finish today and put the game away for a bit (the DLC has an obnoxious grindy trophy that I will not be tackling now).

Diablo IV Trophy Progress Update: Matter Combatant Trophy completed. A friend had to help me because no one seems to be in the area and/or Marked for Death. All that remains is Hardcore. I may or may not go for the DLC trophies now or just wait for the 2nd DLC as they don't impact the Platinum.

2026 game #4: Keeper ONE MORE 😤 Ending my weekend indie binge w Keeper. I don’t have Xbox/PC but despite not being Deck verified wanted to try. The game is beautiful, cool concepts in its 2nd half, but not sure the story landed for me. Also can confirm: don’t play this on Deck, almost unplayable 🤣

Diablo IV Trophy Progress Update Only two trophies remain: Hardcore to 50 and 5 PVP kills. I still cannot find anyone in the PVP area despite running around for an hour last night. Started a hardcore character and made it to 30, but got a bit overzealous, so we're back at 1.

If anyone can help out with the PVP trophy in Diablo 4, it would be greatly appreciated. I've tried on every difficulty level, but no one seems to be Marked for Death. I've killed the Abomination so many times looking, I am starting to feel bad for it.

One of the best trilogies ever. Also, remember I got to interview the developer FOREVER ago (it may have been pre-Obilisk days - COVID years screwed with the time/space continuum and it's all blurry).

2026 game #3: Cat Quest I don’t have a cat but I still did CATURDAY 😤 Fell in love w CQ3 last Xmas as part of my “indie binge” tradition for Xmas/NYE. Was too busy this year so this weekend I gifted myself a break w indie backlog joy. Cat Quest is simple but purfect for preserving my peace today 🙏
