Would love to hear a digital archivistâs take on this. How hard would it be to pull the XML out of Word doc from some deprecated version of MS Word? And what do you do with native Word docs? Copy and paste into an open doc before you archive it?

We need to âpattern disruptâ the way we look at our warming world. Warming is getting much worse, quickly. We need to discuss hard adaptation and an urgent halt to fossil fuel use. No easy choices. Only hard ones left. This is the âpost-Holoceneâ

Record heatwaves are now all over the news. What's scary is that it only gets warmerâmuch warmerâin the coming years. I urge people to treat the "post-Holocene" as here and now, requiring a completely different attitude and relationship with the planet.

Scientists now argue that warm-water coral reefs are in irreversible decline at 1.4°C. Up to eight more tipping points could be triggered below 2°C. Tipping points will define the "Post-Holocene". Transformed planetary geography will also produce historic geopolitical shocks.

The ICJ, the ICC, the UNFCCC treaty â today, none of these can compel a single Great Power to cut emissions. This is not a failure. It is by design. Great Powers have unshackled themselves from the environment and human rights precisely at the moment when oversight is most needed.
