One of the best experiences I have had as a result of being an author is to have been a judge for the Jhalak children’s and YA prize. Sunny has done a wonderful thing here.

I cannot believe it's been 10 years. I adore everything about this. I hope it continues to grow and grow, maybe expanding to a non-fiction category one day. Happy to see many of my favourites on this longlist!

Crude calculation, based on these figures - presumably Gross Value Added, which doesn't deduct wages. In the creative industries, then, the rate of output to people to pay is 50,000. In AI, it's around 130,000. That's a lot more profit per job. That's what this is about.

I highly recommend this. There is so much in here I’m not sure what to draw your attention to in particular. Writing. Teaching. Activism.
