Picture of the Day Going a little more abstract. I liked the way the light was hitting this cactus this morning.

This image from yesterday of a blue-eyed darner is probably one of the better shots I've ever captured of a #dragonfly actually in flight.

I need to wake up one of these mornings to see that the bird of the day theme is something like "buttery smooth bokeh" ... lol, my big sigma shines in that category. 🪶

The #BirdOfTheDay theme is #lunchtime. It seems like most of the images I have of birds🪶 eating, are of great blue heron ... and of those, there were two I couldn't decide between, so I'll just share both.

I love my area of Southeast Arizona. But if I lived in Phoenix, I would definitely be out at the Gilbert Water Ranch at least 3 or 4 times a week.

For me, #WildlifePhotography is kind of like fishing. You pick a good spot, and you may sit for hours with nothing too exciting happening. Then, if you're lucky, right before you're about to leave you get the shot (aka bite) you were out there looking for.

When I'm out taking #wildlife #pictures myself, I also like to capture images of other #photographers from time to time. This was this morning at the Gilbert (AZ) water ranch.

For the #BirdOfTheDay theme of #underrated I'm going to go with these pigeons. Most serious bird photographers rarely bother with pigeons, but I find them striking. This might also qualify for #worst in a way too. It was still just before sunrise, so high ISO and only 1/20 sec shutter speed; shaky.
