A few shots from the Navy boot camp graduation this morning.

We made it to Great Lakes naval base. It was 27 degrees when I took this picture. That will be the warmest it is during our visit. Supposed to be almost 40 degrees colder (-12) by Friday morning ... and that's before factoring in wind chill.

The sunrise gave us a nice sendoff at Sky Harbor this morning.

Biggest generational difference: I almost never watch videos when I scroll. The teens pretty much only watch videos. Drives me nuts

I don't always watch football. But this Rams and Bears game is pretty good.

It occurs to me that to the extent I have any friends here on this app, I would probably show up in their "quiet posters" feed.

I need to start remembering to share my B&W picture a day over here.

I actually don't have a great many shots of #BirdsInFlight, but since it's today's #BirdOfTheDay theme, I will share this image of an osprey that we saw the day we found the wild horses at the Salt River. 🪶

3/4 of our disagreements are about cooking or buying food. This afternoon was an example of why I get frustrated. I was sent to pick up groceries because we had "no food" Then spent 15 minutes rearranging the freezer & pantry to try to make room for the new stuff. 🙄

If the choice it between signing up for another app/service, or not watch an NFL playoff game, I guess I'll just have to catch the highlights later. I don't care enough about football (or any sport) to sign up for another app.

I don't do New Year's resolutions, but it does occur to me that in 2026 I should try to make more Bluesky friends ... people I actually know and interact with daily. I'm a weather forecaster who likes photography and getting outside as often as possible here in southeast Arizona.

I’ve had no trouble visiting most of the trails in the Huachuca mountains over the years. But since we finally got a Jeep in April, a few have become at least a little easier to get to.
