For shots of people just on the cockpit section, it looks like they either had just the cockpit on the ground (for pic 1, throwing a pilot off the roof), or on the roof of a bulldozer (pic 2, to let the cockpit move through the woods while Chewie closes the hatch). TBH these don't look too stable. 😅
