I've generally given Spotify a longer leash than some because I see a lot of what they do as symptoms of the streaming ecosystem as a whole, but this was a conscious decision on their part. YouTube is running these too, so they're not a better alternative. I wonder if other services are.

Computer mice seem to be an exception to Pratchett’s boots theory, in that no amount of money has saved me from replacing them due to the mouse wheel or middle click malfunctioning within a year or two. My $16 mouse from May 2023 finally needed a replacement, outlasting $100 Logitech and Razer mice.

don't know if I'm going to pick this up right away, but TAL stuff rocks and my first impression of the demo is that it's a great inexpensive alternative to Pro-Q. Pro-Q does more but this covers a lot of it while remaining significantly cheaper.
