Ozzy was buried at his property in England, which is perfectly legal there (presumably formalities have been met). The issue to consider before making this choice is that — if the property is ever sold — U.K. law provides that the new owner is not obligated to allow his family to visit the grave.

I do not hate that Trump is spending $200M on a ballroom. He has limited bandwidth + attention, and a ballroom is one of the least destructive ways for him to spend his time. And whenever he has a truly terrible idea, his advisors can redirect his attention to a problem with ballroom construction.

Just a friendly reminder that the deficit is increasing $1 Trillion every 100 days, and we should be concerned when a real estate developer with businesses that have declared bankruptcy 6 times wants to eliminate property tax.

I love that we are staring down a crippling deficit, but Congress felt it was important to pass tax legislation increasing the estate+gift tax lifetime exclusion from $27.98M (married) to $30M in 2026.   Power means taking care of your wealthy donors by tossing them an additional tax-free $2M.

There are often unintended consequences arising from tax legislation, and call me cynical, but I predict that the no tax on tips legislation is going to backfire spectacularly.

This tax proposal is far more expensive than the $2.5 trillion estimate. Usually these budget estimates look at a 10 year window. Here, the expensive provisions expire in 4 years to manipulate that window. The actual 10 year cost if the provisions are then extended is more than $5 trillion.

He paid at least (AT LEAST) $4.5 million in gift tax on this gift, which means this “little gift” to his girlfriend cost him closer to $30 million.
