Does any other writer out there get anxious because you don’t know if you should write a new story or start editing a previous story? That’s my current dilemma. I feel guilty not writing new material, but I simultaneously feel guilty neglecting a previous story. That’s probably a me problem.

A well-written but underwhelming collection of character-centric fiction. While there was some True Detective DNA in the drama and some dialogue, I am a bit perplexed that the stories within this collection are devoid of anything resembling the genre Pizzolatto is known for in TV. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Iain Reid meets Shirley Jackson, “Star Shapes” is a terrific debut novella by @ivygrimes.bsky.social. Clean prose, taut storytelling. 4.5/5 Some Will Not Sleep by Adam Nevill just may be the most unnerving collection I’ve ever read. Great prose and fundamentally effective horror. 5/5

If you haven’t read Cold, Black & Infinite, do so. It’s a nice blend of weird, existential, Ligottian horror, and Stephen King-esque meat-and-potatoes horror. I think Fracassi fans will also dig it.
