For "Ink Stained Wolf"? Oh yes. Jaye does much swearing. I did so much research into Newfoundland Dialect and the wonderful sayings and curses one can hear on that island. I often find myself saying them in conversations. It's a problem. Jaye also uses a few Bronx specific sayings.

Oh my. How much time do you have? Ink Stained Wolf: Jaye + Shaylock (her girlfriend/wife); a few briefly mentioned characters in their pasts Guardian: Persephone + Birch Whispers From The Coffin (my vampire stories): R4-V3N; Silver Rose; Jayne + Abernathy; Nightshade Among others.... :D

Hehehee. Jaye is using her fists. She is trained in Muay Thai and kickboxing after all. Persephone (Guardian) would try her words and probably fail. Her companion Bishop would have to rescue her. (finally catching up on these XD )

This would be Birch (from Guardian). We only know her for a small time at the beginning of the story. We know she is a Spirit. And that she loves Persephone. But there is more to her! Much of it left a mystery.

Have read. Highly recommend. This little story told as a letter detailing the tale of a house of misery, the inhabitants drowning in both despair and selfish desires. Nothing here is as it seems. There is more than cobwebs to be found in the shadowed corners.

Heheheeeee Let's see. Jaye and Shaylock have been.... bloodthirsty vampires, a bard and knight, and racecar drivers. Also shapeshifters in a fun collab with a friend. The tone definitely stays the same no matter the genre. These two are gay idiots in love no matter where they end up! :D

Ooof. This is something I have pondered a few times. Jaye would absolutely try and change some things. She did kill two men in self-defense... erasing that would be nice. But... her life is shaped heavily by that moment. There are people she would never meet, or know. Including her wife. Probably.

Shaylock once came home with a giant black Maine Coon cat. Jaye will tell you she does not like said cat. (She does. Very much.) Jaye would own a wolf if it was legal. Persephone had Spirit-animal companions for a while, two dragons and a lion, though she only got along with the lion.

Have had some evasive narrators (mostly in my novel)... the 👑 goes to Jaye. There are some things about her past she just will NOT tell the whole truth about. Details that get changed in the retelling. And Shaylock? She doesn't bother being unreliable. She straight up leaves things out 🤣 1/

It was probably Jaye who started it - flicking a cigarette into the wrong corner. She's running. Shaylock (her wife) .... is running after her. Zachary (Jaye's brother) is desperately trying to explain to his cop husband why his sis and her wife are running from a burning building. 1/?

Jaye and Shaylock (Inked Stained Wolf) are *always* in my head. These ladies just. Never go away. Even when the story is done, they come back with more words, more snippets of their life together. These two will never leave. Just the mere mention of Shaylock's name and she comes running over. 1/2

My characters yammer on in my head most of the time. Though I have had instances of a set of characters only "speaking" in images and sound. Which was fun. XD Characters I know well (like Jaye) I can hold "conversations" with. Not quite two sided, but I can ask things and get answers. Sometimes.

Seeing people tag things 'human artist' and...shouldn't it be the other way round? Shouldn't the AI-users have to disclose they cheated to make something? Human-made is the default, the ones claiming theft and destruction as art are encroaching. Make them tag their garbage.

So after some thought I have decided to query Nightfall + Reflections together. It just makes more sense to keep Jaye's story together. Wanted to do Nightfall+Guardian... for now, I will save Guardian for when the time is right. So. Ink Stained Wolf it is! (forgot this was in my drafts 🤣)

Finding a Newfoundland based agency to query to feels absolutely WILD. "Hi, hello, have my story partly set in Newfoundland! It has Newfoundland dialect in it!" (Sometimes the query trenches can have surprises :) )
