Dears: Good leadership requires courage. If you are in a position of leadership, now is the time to find yours, and rally your people to theirs. If your leaders lack courage, now is the time to recall them.

the sky wide and fat with sunlight birds singing just outside the window old trees gently touch each other … sometimes the quiet storm in my chest opens into a sweet rainfall and I am overwhelmed by love, simple everyday love, that I have forgotten I am surrounded by.

Also, writing. Thinking. Teaching. Dreaming. Sleeping. Loving. So much loving. Also: going outside. Looking at birds. Trees. The sky. Life is living.

To be clear: Living.

I’m about 100,000 words into a memoir that is probably going to end up being more than one book. I’ve been writing and editing it for a few years now. This week, I spent some time with my first love, poems - I even edited and submitted a few! It felt good to sit with them.

Why are we wasting carbon emissions on something that has no possibility of making anyone's life better or richer? All this will accomplish is giving most of us worse content and giving 2% of the world a bigger number on their computer screen.

It's making problems we do have worse with the goal of solving...problems that 98% of us do not want to solve ("how do we pay labor less").

These things never achieve what people claim. If you ask what the path is to the point they claim, they just say "natural progression!" They use an enormous amount of computing power, and therefore electricity.
