I’ve thought for a long time that no matter how great someone might seem or be presented as, we should resist the urge to name things after people and treat them in ways that essentially deify them or elevate them to divine status. Today provides another example that supports that view.

Not only this, but politicians will let you down many times. Rather than idolizing them, praise them when they do right. Challenge and push them when they do wrong. And never lose track of the fact that no matter how great they initially seem, they are politicians who serve their own self-interests.

I don’t have an issue with educating about Tourette’s. I DO have an issue with the focus not being on the two Black men who were called a racial slur and not centering them/their feeling first. Despite being the targets of the slur, they are forced to be secondary to the person uttering the slur.

I've said for months that colleges/universities didn't care about the legality of these orders or fighting back. They preemptively eliminated things because many don’t (and never did) value DEI, are fine with resegregation, and/or wanted an excuse to eliminate initiatives seen as an “inconvenience”.

I just still can’t imagine being so devoted to any type of belief, ideology, or hatred that I would willingly subject myself to listening to Kid Rock or worse pretending that he’s talented or good. That’s way beyond cult behavior.
