Why did I write about state court pushback to the Dred Scott decision? Because President Trump’s January 2025 Executive Order directly cited the Dred Scott decision when he took aim at birthright citizenship. And we could see state courts pushback against the Supreme Court again. I'll explain. /1

If you want to argue teams shouldn't be punished (compared to similarly situated teams) because they made a conference championship, I could see some potential arguments. But HOW they played should absolutely be factored in. If you get dominated like Alabama just did, that shouldn't be ignored.

I lived and worked in TN from 2016-2019, including in #TN07, and let me tell you that local leaders were building up for what is happening today even then. Win or lose, this area assumed to be unobtainable by Dems is now competitive. Remember this when people try dismiss “red states” or “The South”.

I agree and think we have so many barriers that many needing accommodations don’t get access to them and many who have them are afraid to request them. For that reason, if I assign a quiz with a time limit, I embed time accommodations for all (ex: an online quiz meant to take 30 min gets 60-75 min).

College students would be better served rejecting the belief they must do everything rather than things they’re passionate about. It often stems from college admission. Not only does it lead to poor outcomes but it unintentionally makes them come across as not caring when they’re just overextended.

My chapter specifically focuses on the history, notably the racist history and weaponization, of the bar exam, accreditation, and the LSAT. In addition, it talks about the role white spaces and the white gaze play in law school as well as how to alter white spaces and eliminate the white gaze.

I don’t understand why this is so hard for people to understand or comprehend. If you have to go for two at some point, you do it ASAP. If you don’t get it regardless of when you attempt, you likely lose. So do it early to get more information and give yourself a chance, even if it’s a slim chance.

This is nonsense. People are asking Democrats to not fold on an issue that takes away basic, essential needs. That's not "fighting each other". That's telling their Rep to actually REPRESENT them. It is good that Supreme court denied this request, but the pause that I have is that it was turned down not because many (maybe a majority) don't want to overturn Obergefell but because this specific request was a bad test case and they know it. Multiple justices are waiting for the "right" case.

It’s frustrating to me when announcers for women’s basketball games clearly don’t know the women’s college or pro game, so all their comparisons are to men’s players and often not even good comparisons. Learn the game and the players (past and present)!

People’s view of the economy and voting patterns are shaped by perceptions/experiences, not macro reality. Most don't understand economics, inflation, or tariffs. Trump's mistake (and Biden's past mistake) was insisting the "economy" is good due to the market when folks are struggling in real life.

Underrated results for Dems. One of the first political goals to make inroads in states like MS is to break supermajorities, which Republicans have held since 2011. Now it forces them to have to work with Dems for appropriations, constitutional amendments, overriding vetoes, etc. This matters a lot.

This is correct. Mamdani and Spanberger both excelled in coalition building, choosing the right tactics, mobilizing resources, and messaging. If anything, they serve as good examples for the party of how politicians with varying ideological beliefs/political objectives can run similar campaigns.

When people die (especially public figures), it reminds people of how they lived. That means who they were, what they said, and what they did. Dying doesn’t erase those things; it amplifies them. And when you say/do bad things in life, death acts as a reminder and people react in a variety of ways.

Much of our lack of empathy is due to teaching that luck is antithetical to hard work as opposed to something out of our control that acts as a catalyst or inhibitor. To be successful, you need luck. And it’s wrong to deny the existence of luck and especially wrong to not help those who are unlucky.

The belief that folks with SNAP shouldn’t be able to get treats isn’t based on health but the idea that many think poor people should be punished/miserable. If anything I see a greater need for them to have one. If you lack money for extras, a $3 treat might make their/their child’s day much better.
