During the pandemic Mayor Carter closed down a lot of roads to improve walkability for people who wanted to socially distance. Easy argument "Considering how dangerous ICE is making driving, and how scared they are of civilians in cars, this will make everyone safer."

You also have to ask what end Walz can reasonably achieve. Their stated goal is to get ICE to leave. They can achieve that through prolonged and massive civil disobedience. Pretty much every other strategy leads to failure or surrender.

I don't think the governor of a state needs to be doing the same things as regular citizens, I think he needs to be doing his job as an executive and working to keep the state going under federal occupation

the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?

This stupid fucking town has fewer people than the ten square blocks I lived in in Saint Paul, not exactly the world's densest city, and only exists because people from the Cities like to vacation there. Fuck them and fuck their town.

I see this sentiment and I just want to give some perspective: if a single member of the MN House gets arrested it'll be in GOP control. They are not sympathetic to us. Many of them think it's funny and wonderful that the cities are getting punished. They'll actively work to make our lives worse.

In the last month: my wife has been tear gassed and maced, an American neighbor was abducted, my grocery store & library have been used as props for Bovino and Noem, my children have ICE nightmares. I still have to go to work every day. It is so frustrating watching posters treat this like a game.

This is my state senator. I let my 12 year old attend this protest and I'm proud of her, and glad I did, but I would be lying if I told you I wasn't scared to let her go.

We've got a whole body of law on military Rules of Engagement and Trump managed in less than a year to get the armed forces to blow up civilian fishing vessels and invade a country without a formal declaration of war. I'm not optimistic.

Everyone wants Walz to Do Something, but activating the National Guard will surely lead to military retaliation from Trump. I have kids and a 70 year old mother who live here. I've got an aunt who needs regular access to medical care. I don't know what to do and neither does anyone else.
