I was proud to put forward the first round of many legislative priorities. Last year, we made significant progress together through impactful policy initiatives. I remain focused on advancing bold, data-driven policies that expand Boston’s vibrancy while keeping the city accessible & responsive.

I led the passage to accept a $1.5 million grant from the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program to support capital improvements at Christopher Columbus Park & Long Wharf. We must act with urgency to secure these federal resilience funds, which are at risk of being taken back.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! May we continue to honor his legacy and embrace the lessons he imparted. Let’s reflect on the work ahead as we strive to create a more just and equitable society.

Thank you to the MA Senator who voted YES to lower taxes for residents. Senator Mike Rush filed an amendment aimed at providing meaningful property tax relief for Boston homeowners. While the amendment did not ultimately advance, I’m grateful to the Senators who stood up for Boston residents.

Everyone knows I love to throw down in a kitchen! I had the privilege of joining EquiTable Food Systems for a cooking demo at the Harvest on Vine Community Kitchen. We had a wonderful time alongside Bunker Hill BHA residents, sharing my chicken piccata recipe, & coming together to celebrate joy.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Rocco Telese, one of East Boston’s last World War II veterans. Rocco served honorably in the U.S. Army with the 85th Infantry Division in Italy, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his bravery on the Gothic Line.

We gathered in Central Square to honor and remember the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Thank you to Colonel Fife of the East Boston JROTC for organizing the Memorial Day services and bringing our community together to pay tribute to those who have served our nation.

Had a wonderful afternoon with students at the Otis School. We discussed their upcoming canned food drive, community service, and how I got started in organizing. Loved sharing what it’s like to be a City Councilor and encouraging them to stay in involved in giving back to their community!
